Since 1985, MOR Music has been York’s go-to guitar shop. To keep up with demand, the premises are moving to a new shop just behind the old one, in Franklin’s Yard, Fossgate. The new shop will have two showrooms, one for electric and one for acoustic guitars, both of which have been kitted out with products and assistance from other local York retailers.

In addition to the new showrooms, MOR Music will now be able to provide rehearsal space, suitable for individuals or full bands. There will also be regular tuition available for drums, guitar and vocals in the new rooms, and bands will be able to take advantage of the fully insured equipment storage on site, too.

Aspiring musicians exploring guitar pedals for beginners will find a comprehensive range of options to enhance their musical journey at MOR Music’s new premises.

Following on from successful events such as the York 800 free music festival and the upcoming MOR Music On Rails event at the National Railway Museum, a new stage space will mean live acoustic sets, album launches and events. To tie in with the new offerings and make the most of MOR Music’s experience in event management, a specialist events and festival management company will provide all aspects from licensing to equipment provision for bands.

The new MOR Music shop opens on Saturday 16 August, and can be found behind the previous premises in Franklin’s Yard, Fossgate.
