Following a successful series of shows in New York, Spotify Live intends to become a recurring occasion, with three more concerts in the pipeline for coming months. The début session features York singer/songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich and American vocalist/violinist Marques Toliver.

Leftwich says he is happy to take part in the inaugural event, held at The Lexington in the London suburb of Islington. “[The website] really gets behind musicians and helps get great music out to people. I’m so grateful for the support they have given me and the live event series promises to be very exciting for everyone,” he states.

Free admission for Friday’s event, supported by The Guardian and Rockfeedback Concerts, can be obtained by a variety of routes.  The organisers advise entry on the night will be on a first come, first served basis.  Those wishing to have a guaranteed seat in the audience can apply via either the Guardian website or the Rockfeedback website before midnight on Wednesday (November 9).

Details of further Spotify live events in the UK will be announced soon.  Video footage of Friday’s concert will be available to Spotify users and via the Guardian website in the days following the event.
