As this impassioned and effective music video shows, the plight of Bradley Manning is of major interest to the band. Vocalist Jonny 5 explains:   ”Reading about how he was affected by the images he saw of the reporters and civilians being killed, we felt an undeniable sense of kinship. He reminded us of the countless veterans and enlisted men and women who approach us after shows and share with us the many complex decisions they have faced in the line of duty. We found ourselves identifying with Bradley Manning and wanting to raise our voices on his behalf. We decided to express these feelings in a song. Basically, it’s a love song for Bradley Manning.”

Frontwoman, Alison Goldfrapp tweeted in coincidence with the news saying ”New album, new tour, new beginnings #TalesOfUs”.

‘Tales Of Us’ will be available on CD, vinyl, digital and a special limited edition boxset that will contain an exclusive disc of bonus material and a hardback book compiled by Goldfrapp.

In the run-up to the release, Goldfrapp will be making special performances at the Manchester International Festival on July 17 and 18, playing ‘Tales of Us’ for the first time and accompanied by the Royal Northern College of Music string orchestra. Headlining shows at Somerset House on July 20 and a headline at Lovebox on July 21 complete their scheduled summer appearances.

A number of European dates in Autumn will follow ending with a show at London’s Hammersmith Apollo:

Satyricon have announced an exclusive show at Oslo Opera House on September 8, 2013, where they will perform together with Norway’s 55-strong National Opera Chorus.

The special event is part of the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, which coincides with the worldwide release of Satyricon’s eponymous ninth studio album.

Satyricon’s Satyr comments: “Satyricon excels as a band, the bigger the platform is. In Norway, there is no greater stage than the main hall of our new Opera House. There is nowhere better suited to provide the dynamics, power and authenticity to such an occasion than the Opera Chorus and SATYRICON. We are also excited to have a couple of special musical friends come and play their part as well. Ladies and gentlemen – welcome!”

The Opera Chorus’ lead conductor, David Maiwald adds: “Mixing different musical expressions is always exciting. When the internationally acclaimed black metal band Satyricon meets the voluminous voices of the Norwegian National Opera Chorus, we expect a powerful and monumental result, rich in innovative surprises.”

Tickets for this event will go on sale Wednesday, May 22 and can be purchased here.

Satyricon also headline the Pepsi Max Stage (Stage 3) on Sunday, June 16 at Donington Park’s Download Festival.

Hi guys! We realise that this has taken an insane amount of time to come out, but it is finally going to see the light of day. We have a tentative release set for very early August. There’s also some quite lovely cultural stuff in there, with features on ace artist Stuart Semple, Hull’s legendary Adelphi venue, alongside a spotlight on work done by the fantastic Teenage Cancer Trust. There’s some other stuff too, but it’d probably be nice to have one or two surprises, yeah?

Vocalist Papa Emeritus II succeeded Papa Emeritus at the conclusion of phase one in 2012, and the Nameless Ghouls joined him under the new moniker of Ghost B.C. (modified from Ghost for legal reasons).
