‘The Psychedelic Sounds Of’ is the latest from Brighton quintet The Slytones, set for release on April 29. The EP is the follow up to their 2009 self-titled debut.

The record sees them build on their psychedelic garage blues sound, pushing convention and enveloping more inventive, and often quirky, instrumentation.

The EP demonstrates their innovative song writing and ostentatious approach. Characterised by sinister undertones, rhythm sections and hooks, the music is pulled together with the menacing and raw vocals of front man Ashley Edwards.

The Slytones fuse the groove of The Doors, the spontaneity of Zappa and the raw energy of Queens of the Stone Age to produce their distinct sound. Captured for their live shows, these energetic and ominous performances across the South of England have local audiences captivated.

They start a second UK tour which kicks off after their EP launch event in Brighton’s celebrated Green Door Store.
