On A Wicked Night‘ is a slice of heavy metal taken hot off Danzig‘s new album ‘Deth Red Sabaoth‘. The track starts with a very atmospheric intro that manages to coolly pull off a convincingly dark and haunting sound, with Glenn Danzig‘s vocals swimming eerily through the acoustic sound.

After a minute-and-a-half the song takes a breath, before quickly revving up and screaming into life. The sound is certainly solid and deserves its place as a single however, despite the fact that for the most part the vocals and lyrics are up to standard, Glenn‘s wailing of ‘On a wicked night!’ does grate a bit in parts. This song definitely represents a return to Danzig‘s older sound with the commitment taken as far as to dig up equipment from the grim depths of the ’70s for the album so, long term fans will be delighted while more recent fans will be reintroduced to his best quality work.
