Garbage are just one of those bands, a special act that can emote such a range of emotions from the listener.

Garbage

This is special.Nottingham is truly alive tonight, and Rock City’s walls are rumbling. Shirley Manson has always commanded, and been an ambassador for proper good alt-rock – and tracks like ‘Stupid Girl’ and ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ are just as anthemic, just as vibrant now as they were all those years ago. Of the new tracks, ‘Empty’ is most infectious when injected with live energy that commands this dedicated capacity crowd.

Indeed, there is something in the air tonight. Garbage are back, and the rock music world is better for it – hell, in a time when Kanye’s still at large, and dickheads like Brock Turner are roaming around, the whole world needs this band’s wonderfully poignant anti-anthems.

Wonderful stuff, we’ll see you again soon, Shirl and co.
