S] What direct experiences inspired your track, ‘Genius’?

TC] “You can imagine that most people experience some kind of toxic relationship in their lives and it doesn’t necessarily have to be an interpersonal relationship. It may as well be your own poisonous and destructive attitude towards yourself but we’d say let your own mind wander into the song and that shall give you your answer.”

S] How important would you say image and visual impact is to the band?

TC] “We’re humans and we’ll all be getting older but even so we still want to feel sexy. If you have a Zimmer frame and a hip replacement, does it mean that you don’t want to be sexy or have sex? All the young girls and boys who read about pop groups, actors and see all the glamour, fit bodies and flawless skin but we’re going to wreck their dreams and tell them that many of those “perfect celebs” will get hair on their faces, incontinence, menopause, saggy tits – eventually beyond any surgical repair. Men get it too – sports cars, bald heads and saggy bollocks. It’s inevitable; all you teeny boppers will have the life sucked out of you.

Anyway, we digress. Image, as a visual art is important and it goes head to head with our music. We want to make the best out of what we’ve got but be real at the same time. We’re not perfect and certainly have our own insecurities implanted from early childhood, but we’re going to show people that you can fight those. Just be cool with yourself no matter what.”

S] If you could come up with a Frankenstein’s monster for the band’s sound – the head of Garbage and the arms of Marilyn Manson for example, what would you choose, and why?

TC] “The head of M83, the arms of Marilyn Manson, legs of Garbage and private parts of Rammstein for example or could be an amalgamation of Gorgoroth with Nina Simone, Leszek Mozdzer and Bring Me The Horizon…not nice? If it’s ‘nice’ then what’s the point?”
