S] What, or who are your great musical inspirations?

T] “I can’t really tell. I mean the band we grew up listening to the most, collectively, is Iron Maiden but I don’t think our music has anything to do with theirs. There are so many bands we’ve been compared to over the years and some of us didn’t even know them by name… From that point forward, there are bands we admire and get inspired by and we are in the position to say that we inspire some back. That’s how art should work anyway!”

S] What about personally, what kinds of themes and ideas can inspire your songs?

T] “I would say internal emotional states – mostly inner turmoil, relationships, friendships, the human condition in general…”

S] What song that you are working on right now best defines your sound, and why?

T] “Of the bunch that we are working I’d say the one under the working title ‘Toy Soldier’ is quite characteristic. It has what we’d say a typical Phase song with intelligent riffing and interesting leads. It resembles ‘Hypoxia’ a bit, or a mix of ‘Point Of You’ and ‘Amethyst’ but yet it’s nothing like any of these songs.”

S] Do you have a message for any UK fans?

T] “We are about to plan a small UK tour and we’d really want people to pass by and check out how we’re doing.”

S] What can people expect from your live show?

T] “A night full of genuine rock enthusiasm with an underlying religious dimension.”

S] What are some of your biggest challenges right now?

T] “We want to leave things that drain us and drag us behind and focus on our thing while working on our in-between relationships…”

S] What’re your plans as we move to the end of 2014?

T] “We’re going to record one EP, tour, book some festival appearances for next year and put down the ideas we have for the next album!”
