The single comes in advance of a new EP ‘crows’, to release on June 21st.
Described as a “very exciting” voice in the new altermative music landscape, rouri404 has received a great many co-signs from the likes of Kerrang, DORK, and ASBO magazine among others.
Now, he has dropped a brand new single, ‘skin’, which sees him take his unique fusion of rock, pop, rap, and metal to new heights. You can listen to the new track below.
The track is described as “cementing rouri’s place in the alternative/emo genre, his formative hyperpop stylings surfacing throughout, in bouncy, glitching synths.”
When talking about the track, the Orlando producer himself, real name Joey Cash, revealed the track to be a vessel for exploring some very dark emotions: “I just wanted to touch on the feelings and thoughts of losing people in life on terms that you can’t really control. There’s a beauty in learning to let go and finding ways to move on, rolling with the punches instead of trying to always fight back.”
‘skin’ is the third single from rouri’s upcoming ‘crows’ EP, due out on June 21st.
The EP also features the previously released singles ‘spit’ and ‘shotgun carosel’, showcasing influences from dubstep, DnB and anthemic rock. The release as a whole is said to “showcase his ability to turn introspection into art, while pulling back the curtain on his boundless production.”
Of the many exciting names involved, Cash worked on the project with producers like Keith Varon, known for previous credits with Joji and Travis Barker among others.
‘crows’ will release through Red Bull Records on June 21st.
