Produced by John Congelton (Wallows, St. Vincent, Angel Olsen), the 4-track collection is packed with killer riffs and air-tight songwriting that suggest a band well beyond their years, while also possessing an unmistakable youthful exuberance.

Alongside the announcement, the spirited rock quartet have unleashed the EP’s lead single and infectious title track ‘Happy People flanked by a colourful video that gives a flavour of the band’s live performances.

‘Happy People’ is, in bassist Seth’s words, “a self-reflection on bitterness and resentment, and trying to become a better person out of it. I’ve struggled with feeling easily angered by a lot of things, especially given what we experienced in quarantine, so writing this song was a therapeutic experience.”

A follow-up to last year’s Lullaby For You EP, Happy People represents a leap forward in Greer’s sound and offers a tantalising peek into what these four musicians will be capable of in the years to come.

The crunchy melodies of the Happy People EP bear the mark of classic power-pop influences like Elvis Costello and Big Star. The thematic bent of the record was partially borne out from the COVID-19 pandemic but the spiky, full-bodied four tracks are packed with truisms that are relatable at any point in time.

Greer are already racking up huge numbers on streaming services, with over 300k monthly listeners on Spotify, and have a select handful of US tour dates and festival appearances booked for the remainder of 2021.

Forthcoming second EP Happy People is set for release on 5th November 2021 via Epitaph Records.
