After nearly four years at Sharkeys running their weekly live rock and metal night, the Ninth Circle, Music HQ is upping sticks and heading across the road to Pozition Night Club to provide exactly the same quality night for Komrades Live in a larger venue with the option to bring even better known and more popular bands to Hull as well as giving local bands a great showcase gig.

The Ninth Circle has been at the forefront of promoting local rock and metal bands in East Yorkshire for the last few years supporting local and national acts.

The brand new Komrades Live event will be taking place from 8.30pm every Wednesday at Pozition with live music from 9pm until 11pm before regular Komrades DJs Tea & Biscuits takeover to continue the night until 2.30am. The majority of gigs will be free entry and allow people the chance to catch some great live music before the highly popular club night.

People who come to see the live music will also get free entry to the club night afterwards and drinks will be kept at the same prices that made Komrades such a popular night.

To launch the new night on September 29, popular local heavy metal band Heat-Ray will be performing for the last time with their drummer Chris Best before their original drummer returns in October (shades of Spinal Tap!) You can guarantee a great turnout to see this band kick off the night in fine style playing some NWOBHM-influenced material. Support comes from Chris‘ new band, Iron Harvest which sees him pick up the guitar instead of sticks!

The following week October 6, we have Music HQ favourites The Virgin Marys returning to play for us before they head out on tour supporting Skunk Anansie, The Marys have only played locally for Music HQ and shortly after their appearance at The Springboard Festival at the Hallgate Tavern venue which was run by Music HQ for the festival, they headed out as support on Guns’N’ Roses guitarist Slash‘s UK tour gaining rave reviews.

October 13 sees another highly popular local metal act in Innersylum head to Komrades Live, they can be relied on to provide a great evening’s entertainment with their melodic power metal that has gained them a loyal and appreciative following.

The first month of Komrades Live finishes off with Clown Corpse and Mighty Caldera playing headlining shows on October 20, and 27 respectively.
