Rock Sound have announced that their collaboration with up and coming British rock act, Futures, has been a positive success.

London-based pop-rock band Futures released their debut mini-album, ‘The Holiday’, as a free covermount CD with Rock Sound’s March 2010 issue. It went on to become one of the title’s biggest selling issues of the past two years, with sales up 59 per cent on the previous month’s issue.

Rock Sound Editor, Darren Taylor, said: “This partnership has been a great success. Rock Sound has been able to open Futures’ amazing music up to a far larger audience than an unsigned band might be able to achieve through traditional methods, and at the same time we’ve given our readers incredible value for money while embodying the core ethos of the publication. At Rock Sound we pride ourselves on championing the best new music first and it’s amazing that we were able to offer Futures’ debut mini-album exclusively to our readers. They are an amazing band and we predict big things for them.”

Futures’ manager, Will Blake, added: “We are thrilled with success of the issue. The response from the industry and fans has been somewhat overwhelming. It’s almost an unprecedented position for a breaking band to have in excess of 20,000 people listening to their debut mini-album. We would like to thank Rock Sound for their belief and support of Futures.”
