London indie punk trio cheerbleederz are delighted to announce their return with news of their second EP lobotany, which is set for a 7th February 2020 release on Alcopop! Records, with further details to be revealed over the coming months.

As a taster of the new material, the band have today released a new track ‘say 2 u’—the lead single from the new record, and the first to be written by the band since their 2018 debut EP faceplant.

‘say 2 u’ is about the spaces in between: that pause before daylight breaks; the deep breath that you take before you make your feelings known to someone; the calm before the storm. It’s swirling and elusive, because having feelings for someone can be complicated, but it’s also essentially a love song that’s a bit afraid to commit.

“We had even more fun experimenting with production and songwriting this time around,” say the band on their new material. “Both the single and EP have themes of beginning new friendships—both platonic and romantic—as well as reflections on self esteem, vulnerability and sticking up for yourself.”
