Skindred Release New Single ‘L.O.V.E (Smile Please)’

Newport based reggae metal stars Skindred have released another single off their forthcoming album Smile. ‘L.O.V.E (Smile More)’ firmly taps into the bands reggae side and is a song that is ideal for the summer.

Packed with positivity the new single has been released ahead of a series of tour dates beginning with Bearded Theory on 28^th May and the band will stay on the road till late July in the UK. These dates feature a huge show at Glastonbury and dates supporting KISS. The band will also head back out on the road for their own headline dates in October in support of Smile.

‘L.O.V.E (Smile More)’ was first debuted live last summer at Download Festival for a crowd of 60,000 people. Looking back on this frontman Benji Webbe said “what a way for us to bring that song to the world for the first time – on a big stage, in front of a field of maniacs, doing what we do”.

Recorded during the pandemic, Skindred brought in British producer Julien Emery to work on Smile. Speaking on this decision Webbe makes clear it was not just logistical saying “we also wanted someone with songwriting chops, to slot in with the melodic sound that we have, who didn’t just have an ear for the melodies, but could contribute suggestions too”.

Smile releases August 4^th via Earache Records.
