German techno-pop project Rename have announced a new fan-sponsored album, tentatively titled ‘Real Songs for Real People’, will be released next year.
Rename’s Marcus Fellechner is giving fans the opportunity to become a “Song Sponsor” by donating to the band and in return, Rename will not only use the donor’s name as a song title on the album, but will tailor that song’s lyrics to reflect whatever that fan wishes.
There are 15 tracks planned, and thus 15 people can have their own song. Fans can also choose to be a “Fan Follower” and gain access to demo versions and lyric previews. Both “Song Sponsors” and “Fan Followers” will receive a signed copy of the finished album.
