Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School is the little New York art event that became a movement. Started in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, the concept is simple. Artists draw glamorous burlesque dancers, compete in contests, and win wacky prizes. From it’s humble Brooklyn beginnings, Dr. Sketchy’s now has over 100 branches around the globe, including Los Angeles, London, Rome, Tokyo, Melbourne and many more.

Burlesque Artiste Freya Fox has organised Dr. Sketchy’s in York since the beginning of the year. The monthly sessions feature burlesque babes, drag queens and alternative models alongside all kinds of eccentric characters, along with contests, prizes and alcohol!

Dr. Sketchy’s are presenting “A Mad Hatter’s Tea party”-themed evening on Tuesday, May 3 at 7.30pm at Kennedy’s Bar and Restaurant on Little Stonegate. Posing will be a fabulous array of Burlesque stars: Kitty Noir, Evelyn Entice, Havana Hurricane, Neola, Nikita Noir and as “the Mad Hatter” the Dandy Inferno.
