New Order have been confirmed as the first headline act at this summer’s Exit festival in Serbia.

The recently-reformed band performed a handful of concerts last year, with Gillian Gilbert returning to the fold and Tom Chapman stepping into the shoes of Peter Hook.

The General Manager of the festival, Bojan Boskovic, says he’s thrilled at the prospect of the band’s set. “Who can forget timeless classics like “Bizarre Love triangle” and “Blue Monday”. I can’t wait for New Order to perform at Exit 2012 and I know fans will be excited too.”

Other acts announced for the event, which takes place from July 12 to July 15 on a site overlooking the Danube, include Portuguese kudoro group Buraka Som Sistema, Swiss-Chilean DJ Luciano and Detroit’s Kenny Larkin.

‘Early bird’ tickets for the Novi Sad-based festival have already sold out, but advance tickets remain available online.  A trailer for Exit 2012 has been released, and here it is;
