Bands announced for York’s Copmanthorpe Carnival in July

A new festival is coming to the Recreation Centre, Barrons Crescent, Copmanthorpe in York on July 2, 2011. The seven-hour rock show has an expected audience of 5,000 people and promotes the best in local music and culture. Bands confirmed so far include Kasiuss, Dorien Starre, The Fear and Pauper Kings.

The carnival’s main stage with Minster FM has hosted lots of artists over the years and supported many to international recognition including Elliott Minor, One Night Only, Club Smith, and I Call Shotgun. Gates open at 12 noon and close at around 7pm.

 

Minster FM will be running a battle of the bands competition locally to find one great local act to join the carnival line-up this competition is called Circus Of Noise. There will be more details to follow on this.
