White Witches have announced their debut single, ‘This Song Will Kill You’, which you can stream below!

Fate threw the Cornish duo together for the first time on the same nightshift in a chaotic London newsroom as the Tories squeaked back into power in 2010. Rory Lewarne (vocals) had fronted Sheffield artrockers Pink Grease, while Jeremy Allen (guitar and keyboards) had been in Piranha Deathray and played with Martin Carr, Akira the Don, Lethal Bizzle and others.

They bonded instantly over a shared passion for Roxy Music, Bowie, Gainsbourg, Prince, Ballard and Didion and a vehement hatred of the Tories. Foppish Celts with glitter in their veins, they set about making dirty glam rock with a dystopian heart and a Cornish spirit.

Their debut album is Hieronymus Anonymous. From the cultish subterranean sci-fi of ‘Secret Club’ to the baroque pop of new single ‘This Song Will Kill You’ (out now on all streaming services), from the gothic crooned romance of ‘Savages’ to the heavy, surrealistic title track (which tells the story of a metropolitan man-about-town who finds himself literally addicted to art), it’s an LP of unfettered imagination. Contributors include ex-Art Brut drummer Mikey Breyer, Bourgeois & Maurice bassist Charlie Webb, Desperate Journalist vocalist Jo Bevan, and the All Seeing I’s JP Buckle.
