Woolhouse Studios is famous for its rock ‘n’ roll photography and design for music’s biggest guns, including The Prodigy, Mick Rock and more (see below for examples). The London-based studios has decided to help up-and-coming artists, with its Giving Something Back project, which will see Woolhouse dedicate three days a month to music’s emerging artists.
During these studio open-days, Woolhouse will shoot five artists a day providing press shots with the same level of dedication they give to their major music clients, such as Tinchy Stryder, HMV, William Morris, Sony Deconstruction, Space Ibiza, Mixmag, Bang and Olufsen and Defected.
Woolhouse founder, EmmaJ said: “The project was born out of our love for the music industry and the understanding that everybody needs a little help sometimes. Woolhouse has carved a reputation for working with the ‘big guns’ of the industry. Many people see our work on billboard campaigns and in the press and feel we are inaccessible. So we wanted to change that by giving something back. This project brings new energy and talent into our studio and keeps our fingers on the musical pulse. After all, today’s fresh talents are tomorrow’s superstars.”
For just £550, female acts can get top hair and make-up artists and professional retouching on their three, high-res shots. Bands are just £450 for three shots and male artists pay £350 for three striking images.
Woolhouse Studios changed the face of photography and design in 2009, when it was founded by former model and DJ EmmaJ, who cherry-picked a team of celebrated photographers, Adobe Design experts, lighting and retouching virtuosos and top stylists to create truly original photographs.
