With its heart firmly set in Yorkshire, the exhibition features ten portraits of unique individuals from Walmgate, York painted with clarity and perception by Rimmington over a number of weeks. The subjects were contacted through the Walmgate Resident Association and extensively interviewed and photographed to reveal the aspects of their physiognomy, Rimmington found them most fascinating on not only technical and aesthetic but also intuitive levels. The result is a sensitive and intrinsically charming representation of local city life across numerous generations and a strong expression of York’s indomitable community spirit and artistic appreciation.

Rimmington and several of the sitting subjects themselves will be in attendance on opening night, which runs from 19:00 – 21:00. Wine will be served!
