UK Dates will also support the Music Venue Trust £1 Donation Initiative

Nu-metal band Alien Ant Farm have just announced a co-headline tour with alt-metal and stoner rock band CKY that will see them performing dates throughout the UK and Europe.

The news comes shortly after the release of the group’s most recent album ‘~mAntras~’, that saw its release last Friday (April 26th).

In the announcement, the band seemed incredibly excited to be crossing the pond once again. As vocalist Dryden Mitchell put it: “We’ve always loved our UK tours! For over 20 years we have been able to play shows all around our “home away from home” and we’re excited to see old friends and fans on this run. Personally, my favourite. Don’t tell the States.”

They also took the time in their statement to big up their co-headliners, CKY. “We’ve watched CKY as fans through the years but have never had the pleasure to meet and tour with them. We think this is a proper nice fit.”

An interesting element to the tour is the fact that Alien Ant Farm and CKY will be supporting he Music Venue Trust’s £1 donation initiative, meaning they will add an optional £1 donation to ticket prices on the UK dates, that MVT will distribute donations to small, local, grassroots music venues across the country to support the indie music scene. They will be the first bands from the USA to participate in the scheme.

“As a band, we have seen the work that Music Venue Trust are doing for grassroots venues across the UK and were inspired to lend our support. We are honoured to be the first American bands to be involved in this initiative and would urge other artists who enjoy playing in the UK to follow suit.”

Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust, added, “Every ticket you buy to see Alien Ant Farm and CKY’s exciting UK tour will not only grant you an unforgettable experience, but also serve as a beacon of support for our cherished local music venues. Alien Ant Farm and CKY set a precedent for global solidarity within the music community.”

As previously mentioned, the tour is in support of the release of the ‘Smooth Criminal’ coverer’s brand new album ‘~mAntras~.’ It’s been reported as, “a record that will not only challenge your preconceptions of the band, but will also firmly reassert their place in the world. Its songs don’t just take the listener on a musical journey, but also a personal and spiritual one.”

Speaking about the record, the band echoes the sentiment that the album proves there’s much more to them than cheesy pop covers. “Growing up, divorce, children, family, death, band break-ups, surgeries, illness, health—everything is in this record. It’s literally a product of all the fucking shit, good and bad, that we went through”, said guitarist Terry Corso.

Dryden Mitchell also added his own two cents into the mix: “For a band that released “Smooth Criminal”, we are a crazy prog band. If you scratch that just a couple of songs in, there’s some real goodness going on in there.”
