Dublin/Leipzig-based rock duo Bicurious have launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to complete the production of their upcoming second album. The fundraiser aims to raise funds for the mixing, mastering and marketing of the record.

This news may not be entirely surprising to some, as a number of independent artists have flocked to platforms like Bandcamp in recent years due to lack of feasible income via streaming services.

The band have also promised a number of special bonuses for those kind enough to donate. These include exclusive merch bundles, signed goodies, and even an exclusive live performance in your back garden.

Speaking about the fundraiser, guitarist and vocalist Taran commented on the financial difficulty the pair find themselves in as an independent band. “Unfortunately, being a DIY band, it’s not always easy to secure funds for recording, mixing and all the rest”, he said. “We want to give this album the best chance of getting heard, which is why we’re calling upon our fans, friends and families to help out in any way they can. No amount is too small, and any help at all will go a long way. Let’s do this together!”

Should the fundraiser be successful, the math-post-rockers seem very enthusiastic about the album waiting on the other end. “We’re incredibly excited about this album. It’s new sonic territory for us, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

The duo have reportedly been working on this new record for 15 months with producer Tom Peters (Alpha Male Tea Party), compiling the album “across three countries and four recording studios.” Even with the fundraiser, the outlook for the album’s release is optimistic, as the pair have previously said they’re “close to the finish line” in terms of progress.

Furthermore, the Irishmen also commented that they had “major touring plans” to be announced later this year.

Bicurious’ fundraiser will be up for the next 60 days. You can donate via their website https://bicuriousbandofficial.com
