British Synthpop duo EMPATHY TEST have come out as one of the strongest insider tips of their scene. Entirely through self-distribution, EMPATHY TEST have sold over 4,000 vinyl albums and 6,000 CDs by now. In order to increase their reach, the duo team up with professional independent distributor SPKR Media.
The entire catalogue of 4 albums will be available on October 6 in North America, one day before EMPATHY TEST embark on an US tour with 30+ dates. In Europe, the album catalogue will be made available on October 20.
The four studio albums, “Losing Touch” (2014), “Safe from Harm” (2017), “Monsters” (2020), and the 2022 live-album “Time To Be Alive” will be reissued as jewel case CDs, as vinyl LPs, and as strictly limited coloured vinyl LPs.
Isaac Howlett comments: “We are extremely excited, after nearly ten years of releasing music on our own, to have our CDs and vinyl available in music stores around the world, for the first time”, the EMPATHY TEST vocalist writes. “Our new distribution deal with SPKR, and the repressing of all four of our albums on both CD and vinyl, will allow us to not only reach new audiences, but it will also provide the perfect opportunity for our fans to complete their collections.”
EMPATHY TEST were founded by the two childhood friends Isaac Howlett, who is the singer and songwriter, and composer and producer Adam Relf in London in January 2013.
Over the past nine years, EMPATHY TEST have evolved from complete obscurity to become one of the best known and loved acts in the alternative electronic music scenes of both Europe and the US, with dedicated listeners around the globe.
EMPATHY TEST‘s anthem ‘Losing Touch’ has already reached more than 6 million streams on Spotify, and many other tracks are crossing the 7-digit streaming mark. The Londoners are steadily climbing up the festival billings and have performed at such prestigious events as the Wave Gotik Treffen, Mera Luna, Amphi, Plage Noire, and NCN. Apart from headlining tours in Germany, France, and the UK, EMPATHY TEST have also supported such illustrious acts as VNV NATION, COVENANT, MESH, and AESTHETIC PERFECTION. The duo will embark on an extensive North American tour with 30+ dates in October 2023, and they have also released the German dates for their Ten Year Anniversary Tour 2024 in Europe.
