The gig is scheduled to follow their UK and Europe tour which starts on the 6th February in Cambridge at The Portland Arms. Tickets for the headline show and the band’s UK and Europe tour are on sale now.

As well as the news of the hometown gig, the band have released a music video for their newest single ‘The Wedding’ to mark the album’s release. Speaking about the new single, frontman Sean Murphy O’Neill says: “’The Wedding’ is the 7th Act of ‘New Last Name’, with the overall narrative starting to come to its conclusion. Our protagonist appears to have come to terms with everything and looks back with misty eyes.”

The new album ‘New Last Name’ sees the band continue to experiment and evolve from the sounds of their critically acclaimed 2022 debut album ‘Guitar Music’. This time the band aren’t just pushing themselves creatively with their sound but also with the idea of themes and concepts. Murphy O’Neill says: “There’s a lot going on. It can be simply enjoyed as an album, but there are characters, acts, stage directions etc. The listeners can decide on the narrative themselves, but we want them to get lost in it.”

This time round the band have teamed up with indie rock legends Gary and Ryan Jarman of The Cribs who worked with the band on production duties on several tracks. Recent single ‘We Look Good Together (Big Words)’ also sees guest production, this time by London duo DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ. Courting’s ambition and creativity has gotten them cover features from the likes of Dork, and support and acknowledgement from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, NME, Pitchfork and Stereogum, to name a few.
