Houses of Heaven have released their second album, Within/Without, hitting the music scene with 10 tracks, including already-heard title-track ‘Within/Without’, and popular pre-release ‘Deserve’.
Using EBM, techno, and drum and bass, combined with industrial sounds, Houses of Heaven have created an authentic sound that sticks with their music throughout their entire discography. Within/Without takes this sound and uses it against the intricate lyrics, creating a respectful contrast.
The Oakland band’s new album reflects the contrast in its sounds into its deeper exploration of the contrast between the fantasy worlds and unfiltered truths that define modern survival, as well as the desperation for human connection while intoxicated by anxiety and the isolation of technology.
Houses of Heaven have successfully and creatively conveyed their ideas through their personal sound, while delving into new, developed territories that their previous music had not reached.
