The Charlatans’ vocalist Tim Burgess and guitarist Mark Collins are set to embark on a series of intimate live shows across the UK starting on March 8th. To coincide with the tour, stripped-down EP ‘Warmer Sounds’ will be released on the same day to download and on a limited edition 10″ vinyl. The shows will see the prolific songwriters performing acoustic and reworked versions of songs from a back catalogue spanning over 20 years. The pair first played the new set at a small show in Manchester last year and had such an overwhelmingly positive reaction they decided to take it out on the road.

‘Warmer Sounds’ will consist of six stripped-down and reworked versions of Charlatans classics including ‘North Country Boy’, ‘Only One I Know’ and ‘Smash The System’ from their current album. Both sophisticated and refined, the band has found inspiration in folky Byrds-esque harmonies and Johnny Cash-style rockabilly. It will be available on vinyl and as a download from iTunes and their website (www.thecharlatans.net) on March 8.

The Charlatans released their 11th studio album ‘Who We Touch’ to critical acclaim late last year.
