Modern alt-rock duo PEAKS! hailing from Turin in Northern Italy, emerged towards the end of 2020 with their jaw-dropping debut song ‚’ Blackout‘. Fast forward to today – and their debut release has notched up nearly 2 million Spotify streams.

The new single ‘When The Lights Fade Out’, leans back into the sound of the debut single, with their trademark big fuzzy guitar riffs and bombastic hooks.

The song itself is a powerful anthem, sparked off from the re-imagination of a harsh reality of a future without electricity or light. An encouraging soundtrack that explores the darkness that can envelop us all, especially when feeling lost or alone. The song is a reminder that even in the darkest of moments there is hope, and that together, we can overcome any obstacle.

Lorenzo Mazzucchi and Luca Del Fiore (PEAKS!) explain how the track came about:

‘This song is a reflection of the society we’re living in, and the struggles many of us face. It’s about pushing through despite the odds and the uncertainty that surrounds us, particularly within this current energy crisis. The lyrics speak to the universal human experience of perseverance and the will to survive. We hope this song will provide a sense of hope and determination for anyone who needs it.’

‘It is a call to action, to inspire people to take action and demand change from those in power, encouraging people to come out and take control of their future, even when the lights fade out. The line “I don’t give a fuck, no” is a declaration of defiance and determination in the face of uncertainty.’

‘’When The Lights Fade Out’’ is a song that reflects on the harsh reality of a future without electricity or light. It’s a dark and hopeless picture, much like the dystopian films that have been warning us for years about the dangers of our current path. But we don’t want this song to be just a depressing reminder of what could be – we want it to be a call to action. A rallying cry for us to fight for change and demand a more equitable distribution of resources.’

Debut live shows in early Summer 2022 at The Great Escape in Brighton saw rapturous praise. Festival performances followed at 2000 Tress in the Uk and support on the bill at BST Hyde Park with Pearl Jam, then played their first Italian show in front of 10,000 people in Mantova Italy, supporting Placebo, and finished the year playing with Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes.

On the previous singles they received widespread support from streaming platforms including New Music Friday Spotify across Europe, as well as key playlists including All New Rock, The New Alt, Pop Rock Shot, Alternative Beats, Rock Italia and New Noise. They also clocked support on Amazon Music from their Fresh Rock and New Rock playlists. Across the airwaves, Jack Saunders has supported as part of his BBC Radio 1 ‘Future Artists’ section. Outside the UK, they have got airplay in Italy, USA, Germany, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe including main supporters such as extraRadio in their home country of Italy, WONC Pure Rock in the Chicago area of the US, MiNT in Belgium and CT Das Radio in Germany.
