CD Review: Pop Levi – Police Sign (single)

This is some seriously schizophrenic pop music on a sugar high in the vein of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Suede. ‘Police Sign’ has been built to take over every indie-club dancefloor this summer.

That being said there’s nothing too fancy here, just hard-hitting punk guitars, poppy-yet-abrasive vocals and catchy-as- all-hell beats. It’s a simple formula but it hooks you in from the get-go with effortless pop melodies and a snotty punk attitude that’ll appeal to more than a handful of indie kids and alt-rock fans. There are some nifty glam rock elements embedded within this that will capture your ears no matter what you’re into. It’s seriously dirty, hot stuff. So, dig in, get messy and be careful not to burn your ears. With this Pop Levi proves that he’s got some serious staying power.
