London’s fearsome art-rock duo WAHL have announced the release of their debut single, ‘Walk Away’, out Sept 28th. Despite honing their craft over some time, their output has thus far been largely kept secret and their launch show won’t be until an intimate performance this November.

Having worked in various successful projects together multi-instrumentalist and singer Rachel Still and drummer Kayleigh Cheer knew they had everything they needed between them to create the sound they were after. This is no stripped back two-piece, the sound is layered and expansive, drawing influence from the likes of Brian Eno, Savages and The War On Drugs.

‘Walk Away’ is an energetic post-punk burner with tribal drums and a powerful vocal performance from Still while B-side ‘Run In The Fire’ showcases a more ethereal side to the band with hypnotic acoustics and dreamlike production reminiscent of Kate Bush and Daniel Lanois.

The band are currently teasing their tightly arranged new tracks via a series of online live performances while they begin to uncover their new project. These will be joined by intimate shows and the steady release of an exceptional catalogue of singles.

“Our work created a world for us in which the harsh noise of the times we live in was channelled into something positive; we hope that this will resonate with you when listening to it as much as it did for us whist creating it.”
