I am a very simple not-a-guy.  You type the words “for fans of Confidence Man” in the subject line of an email, I am going to give that shit an insta-listen.  The unashamedly cheesy Australian dance-pop group who’ve been steadily blowing up since releasing sophomore album TILT have been one of my favourite new bands for half-a-decade, and I am very much here for anyone else operating in that sonic space.  To wit: BIG WETT, an enigmatic Australian artist who, per their own Soundcloud bio, “make(s) songs for sluts.”  Which means proudly horny, slightly daft/obnoxious, and gloriously extra club music that’s equally indebted to 90s rave as it is Right Said Fred and teen movie mean girl clique attitude.  I consider those all very good things.

BIG WETT’s gearing up to put out her first EP in a month’s time, the tastefully-named PU$$Y, which will pull together nearly all of her singles released so far.  The sassy runway strut of “NUMBER 1 PUSSY,” the Plastics theme-tune “BAGS,” the adrenaline-spiked siren-blaring thump of “GSPOT,” and “Mickey” for proud gold-diggers “KING DICK” have already been shown.  Now, she’s shared “DONT U WANT IT ALL,” a sweaty club jam riding deep burbling synths, snappy handclap and cowbell percussion, and a disaffected hedonist vocal turn constantly manipulated by effects.  By now, you should already have a good idea whether or not this is for you – hell, the mere name BIG WETT is as good a litmus test as any – so feel free to dive in below.

If these tracks have been for you (like I) and you live in or can easily get down to London (unlike I), BIG WETT will be playing their debut UK headline show at The Moth Club on 1st November.  Tickets can still be purchased at this link via Dice.Fm.

PU$$Y will be released on 22nd September via Play It Again Sam.
