BLUE STAHLI & DANNY COCKE “UPGRADE” (RE-WIRED BY HYPER) OUT NOW VIA POSITION MUSIC

The tsunami of a game which is CYBERPUNK 2077 is one year old! And, to celebrate, the stars have aligned.

Position Music has brought Hyper (pictured) and Blue Stahli together with Danny Cocke to close the circle on the game which ties the three together. Hyper has been given free reign by Danny and Blue Stahli to “Re-Wire” their track “Upgrade”—which was used in CYBERPUNK 2077 as an in-game song. The rules have been ignored, the genres kicked aside and all fucks thrown out, as this noisy juggernaut flattens all. The original integrity of this powerhouse has been retained, but, listen closely—it GOES-IN-HARD!

It’s belligerent and brash—a breath of fresh air in this pressure cooker of a world gone mad. Put simply, this is a collaboration that was long overdue.

A couple of years ago, Blue Stahli and Danny Cocke joined forces to record the original version of “Upgrade” with CYBERPUNK 2077 in mind. The smash hit game has been played by millions, And “Upgrade” became especially tied to the CYBERPUNK 2077 community after its use in the Johnny Silverhand trailer for the game.

Blue Stahli is at the vanguard of the musical revolution we all know has arrived, Stahli confidently straddles the perceived gap between rock, industrial, electronic, and cinematic landscapes with aplomb. Established as a force to be reckoned with in the world of film, advertising, and video games, Stahli has contributed to major tentpole media campaigns such as Kingsman, Call of Duty, Destiny 2, Iron Man 3 and Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Danny Cocke is a prominent composer for film, TV, and video games, usually found bustling away in a studio which features more distortion pedals than anyone should really be allowed to own. His fusion of slick electronics and sweeping orchestral arrangements have graced video game titles such as Rainbow Six Siege and EVOLVE and trailers for heavyweights movies, such as The Avengers, Alien: Covenant, and Deadpool 2.

Hyper’s hit song “Spoiler” needs little introduction, with over 26M Spotify Streams to date, it undoubtedly influenced the overall sound of Cyberpunk 2077. His brooding, uncompromising, and violent 2012 masterpiece “Spoiler” inspired a generation of gamers and music lovers to throw boundaries out the window. “Spoiler” was used in the most popular Cyberpunk trailer which launched the track to quickly become one of the most imitated electronic records in the past few years. Recently, in addition to scoring Ubisoft’s ‘Hyper Scape’, Hyper’s music was featured in ‘Bladerunner 2049’ and he recently scored the award winning 2019 Porsche Cayenne Ad and the more recent launch of Porsche’s Mission R Electric sportscar.
