The Gaslight Anthem return with ‘Positive Charge’, their first new music since 2014’s Get Hurt.

The band re-emerge with vigour, evolving upon their signature sound whilst losing none of their energy.

Produced and mixed by Peter Katis, whose previous credits include The National, Kurt Vile and Interpol, the track marks the band’s first release since 2018’s The ’59 Sound Sessions, nine rare and unreleased tracks recorded in the run up to 2008’s The ’59 Sound.

Speaking about ‘Positive Charge’, lead singer Brain Fallon says “Positive Charge began as a message of joy to ourselves and to our audience. The central theme is about looking at the things you’ve come through and feeling like you want to go ahead with an open heart toward the future, believing that the best years are not behind any of us and the good we have is worth something.”

After ending the indefinite hiatus announced in 2015 with a series of 2018 concerts to promote The ’59 Sound Sessions – including their biggest UK show to date at OVO Wembley in London, the band confirmed their full-time reunion last year. This confirmation came with the intent to tour an record an upcoming sixth album.

The Gaslight Anthem are set to tour the US in May ahead of their hometown show on Newark, New Jersey opening for The Misfits. This is in addition to festival appearances such as at Four Chord Music Festival and Bourbon and Beyond over the Summer.
