Soaked with infectious guitar chords, the Irish group Post-Party are hard to categorise especially with their new album.

Fast-Paced with explosive guitar, ‘Lap Around The Sun’ opens Post-Party’s Latest EP ‘I Didn’t Before But I See It Now.’ Smooth drumming and lead singer Keelan O’Reilly’s upbeat, characteristic vocals soon emerge. Nearing the end of the track the music calms whilst the drumming intensifies and makes your heart race, becoming the main attraction. For the final chorus the guitar and vocals return to the centre of attention and bring the song to an enthusiastic end.

The album leads onto the blissful ‘Negative-Energy.’ Light guitar and gentle vocals focusing on positivity and doing what you enjoy craft a feel-good, uplifting track. ‘I don’t have enough free time for your negative energy’ O’Reilly peacefully sings with a high-spirited, summer atmosphere.

A standout ‘Circuit Breaker’ embraces synth-like, alien sounds. Intoxicating guitar riffs dominate the track accompanied by consuming drumming. O’Reilly’s vocals are less content here especially when he eagerly bellows “Your fucking stuck in my head.”

Flipping the album on its side, ‘suffice’ closes it tranquil yet downhearted. Acoustic guitar keeps the song calm matching the mournful vocals reflecting on a past romance. Throughout the track eery, distorted noises make your arm hair-raise while you feel the sorrow that was poured into it. “What more can I do than fall in love with you” sincerely concludes Post-Party’s new music.
