Our first time at the beautiful Project House sees us covering some incredible alternative, hardcore and emo sounds from Viji, Drug Church and Citizen (pictured).

Viji start things off with a wonderful mix of riot-grrl indie energy the lies of Bikini Kill and Momma. A band to watch for the future. Some excellent pop hooks with a undeniable raw 90s energy in tracks like ‘Sedative’ and ‘Karaoke’.

Drug Church, as always bring an insane vibe, and old-school hits like ‘Weed Pin’ meet newer bangers like ‘Myopic’ for a resounding, crowd-surfing epic. One of our favourite live bands in recent memory.

Man, Citizen have changed. From brooding alt-rock and hardcore to emo-pop perfection. The crowd full up here, and the venue is a sweaty (but glorious) mess from hits like ‘Blue Sunday’ and Lay Low’ to older, heavier efforts like ‘Yellow Love’. A packed-out house, eight years in the making, and a fantastic night, filled with good vibes and a great testament to Leeds’ alternative community as everyone came together to mosh, hug and bliss out.
