With plenty of summer gigs lined up and new EP ‘Wellbeing’ due out next month, 2017 is shaping up to be a pretty busy year for Chester five-piece Campfire Social. Here at Soundsphere, we got a sneak preview of ‘Wellbeing’.
In 2016 Campfire Social rolled out a true masterpiece in the form of single ‘Nothing, Nowhere, Never, Now’. Fast forward to this year and they’re still doing what they do best, producing extremely catchy melodic tunes.
The past twelve months have been busy for the band, from recording new music, to playing various shows around the North West. They’ve also had airplay on BBC Radio Wales.
If you’re familiar with Campfire Social, you’ll know of their signature harmonies and quirky style. Throwback to last year when ‘Nothing, Nowhere, Never, Now’ was released, and you would happily have it stuck in your head all day.
What can you expect from new EP ‘Wellbeing’? The tracks showcase the band’s wonderful vocal abilities, reminiscent of the gorgeous light-hearted harmonies of The Beach Boys. Their instrumental skills go hand in hand with the vocals on the songs, with the upbeat ‘ISHQ’ and ‘Nothing, Nowhere, Never, Now’ are juxtaposed beautifully with the mellow ‘Playwright’ and ‘Wendy’.
‘Nothing, Nowhere, Never, Now’ demonstrated Campfire Social’s songwriting talents, and this EP is no different, producing powerful lyrics, undoubtedly in a time when we need it the most; as ‘ISHQ’ says, ‘a voice that is louder than a marching band’.
Even if we don’t get any proper summer weather here in the UK, Campfire Social’s latest EP is sure to get you ready for festival season.
Wellbeing is available to pre-order on 9th June and will be released on 23rd June.
